Leeds Arts Council Building

Leeds was one of the first small-town arts councils in the Greater Birmingham area to establish a performance center. The theater building houses a year-round art gallery, classroom space and a theater that also serves as an auditorium. Community events include 12 artist receptions and six poetry readings annually. Local Birmingham talent is showcased in three community plays – a spring comedy, summer Broadway musical, and fall mystery dinner theatre. Summer theater productions are part of the children’s musical theatre workshops. Community programs that take place year-round consist of the Jane Culbreth Library programs, book signings, variety shows, evenings of dinner and love songs, holiday tablescapes, fashion shows, one-day workshops, community chorus performances , concerts and symposiums. These facilities have continued to showcase local entertainment and talent for 25 years. learn more
